Improving Community Assets

All facilities that are owned and managed by communities themselves are classed as community assets. The best known community asset is usually the village hall or other community building held on a charitable trust and managed by a committee of volunteers, followed closely by the local playing field. Other assets could be the children's play area, bus stops or other plots of land such as the village green.

Legislation surrounding the running of community assets changes frequently and we know that this is a huge burden of responsibility on those involved in the management of community facilities. Cambridgeshire ACRE's specially-trained advisors keep abreast of the latest development and can offer help and support. They can respond to telephone, email and postal enquiries from representatives of village halls, community centres and other community assets across the county.
