Community Led Planning
Community Led (or Parish) Plans give an opportunity for local people to debate and create their own vision for a sustainable future. They provide a way for you to say if you want more open spaces, more effective public transport, affordable housing, better access to health care, a chance to buy local produce at local shops and to choose how your community helps everyone in it to relax and make the most of their leisure time.
Cambridgeshire ACRE has a long history of working with individual communities to deliver parish plans, brokering the required relationship with local authority officers. Over 65 rural communities have so far created their own action plans as a result of the community-led parish plan process with Cambridgeshire ACRE's support. Across Cambridgeshire, rural communities tackling parish plan actions have delivered many improvements in their local area. To find out more about the activity driven by parish planning, download the Localism Delivered document in the Resources and Downloads section of this page.
Cambridgeshire ACRE's team of experienced community advisors have a wealth of knowledge about what works when developing a Community Led Plan.
Cambridgeshire ACRE can also provide training for partners who want to understand more about the community led planning process and how it might inform their work. Copies of completed plans can be accessed by visiting the Resources and Downloads section of this page.
