Cambridgeshire ACRE takes a participative, negotiative approach to strategic influencing making use of its existing relationships and networks. Staff work continually to widen these networks by raising awareness of the organisation's core strategy and its work.
In 2007/08 Cambridgeshire ACRE signed a three-year contract with Defra, via the Rural Community Action Network, to undertake strategic influnecing activity under three headings: Rural Retail, Rural Assets and Rural Voice. This work is underpinned by a business plan which provides our focus and delivery targets until 2010.
We recognise that influencing work should only be taken from a truly informed point of view with pre-research and the building of local evidence (often from a community viewpoint) being critical for ensuring a positive result.
We have invested in a Customer Relationship Management system to help us maintain quality records and a professional face when dealing with external contacts.
