Achieving Strategic Influence

Working in Partnership

Cambridgeshire ACRE rarely works alone. Our services are developed in partnership with government agencies, local authorities, education providers, health agencies and voluntary organisations.

Through our research and development activity we collect information and data to ensure that the services we develop are those that the community around us needs.

We have considerable experience of facilitating and administering partnerships have had some significant successes in working this way. All our staff are trained in partnership working to ensure they have the knowledge, skills and tools to set up, develop and maintain successful partnerships and to support positive influencing behaviours.

Our staff sit on partnerships across the county, including the Local Area Agreement Board for Cambridgeshire (Cambridgeshire Together) and the District-based Local Strategic Partnerships, where they have a voice and provide representation for our membership.

Cambridgeshire Together

Cambridgeshire Together is a group of key local organisations that are working in partnership to improve the quality of life for those who live, learn, work and travel in Cambridgeshire. The Cambridgeshire Together Board is led by local authority members and senior decision-makers from the County Council and five District Councils, the police, health, business representatives and the voluntary and community sector.

Cambridgeshire Vision

Cambridgeshire Together has assembled its ambitions and priorities in the Vision, the Sustainable Community Strategy. The Vision tells the 'story of place' of how the partnership will meet the challenges of a changing county from 2007 - 2021. The Vision priorities were chosen with local needs in mind. They reflect the local priorities of the sustainable community strategies of the county's five districts - Cambridge City, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire and South Cambridgeshire. The priorities were chosen after consultation with residents.

Cambridgeshire Local Area Agreement

The Vision has its own three year delivery plan called the Local Area Agreement (LAA). This is an agreement between Cambridgeshire Together and central governement with set targets which run until 2011. All Cambridgeshire Together's partners are working to meet these targets.

Local Strategic Partnerships

Local Strategic Partnerships or LSPs are local-level partnerships of public, private and voluntary organisations working together to improve lives in their local area. Each District has its own LSP.

We are actively involved in the East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire and South Cambridgeshire LSPs providing representation and managing community led planning at both a strategic and operational level.
