The national network of ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) members is seeking applications from people with an enthusiasm for rural communities to be Chair of the Board.
The current chair, David Emerson CBE, will be reaching the end of his term in November of this year; ACRE are looking for a successor. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong diplomacy skills and have an understanding of, and passion for, rural community issues and membership organisations.
As the Chair of ACRE’s Board of Trustees, you will be their champion and ambassador, consistently involved with influencing government and key stakeholders nationally. You would also be engaging and responding to the needs of ACRE members locally.
Speaking about the role, ACRE’s Vice Chair Jan Thornton MBE said, “Trustees are looking for an experienced chair who is passionate about the future of rural communities, committed to the work of the ACRE Network and capable of influencing on the national stage. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wants to help us provide a strong voice for rural communities so that no one is disadvantaged because of where they live”.
Their board meets quarterly, with an annual strategy away day and an AGM conducted. There are many opportunities to engage with National ACRE’s membership and government throughout the year, while also being a main figure for their executive team.
Peridot Partners are currently coordinating recruitment for this voluntary role. If you are interested in applying or know someone who would be, please read the full advertisement on Peridot’s website.
The closing date for this role will be Monday 11 July, 9am.
