Bourn Windmill is one of the oldest windmills in England dating from c1635 and is designated
as an Ancient Monument. Sadly, the windmill is currently closed to the public and its custodian,
Cambridge Past, Present & Future, is working with the windmill volunteers to save it from
collapse and restore it to working order. Once safely restored they wish to engage a wider
range of people from the local community and further afield to encourage them to visit and
enjoy its history.
Cambridgeshire ACRE has entered into a partnership agreement with Cambridge Past Present
& Future to support its Bourn Windmill project. Cambridgeshire ACRE’s role is to lead a
programme of work aimed at increasing community engagement in and with this significant
We are seeking the services of an experienced consultant to carry out work
to improve the interpretation of the Windmill’s story and to make it accessible to as wide a
range of people as possible. Working alongside the Cambridgeshire ACRE delivery team, the successful consultant will carry out work to improve the interpretation of Bourn Windmill.
Specifications of tasks to be completed:
- Work with students and Mill volunteers to develop a draft storyboard for the film;
- Finalise storyboard and develop filming schedule;
- Film and edit footage;
- Upload film online, making it available in different formats which can be used by CPPF.
