Our Community Development Manager, Rachael, talked about her work with the Ramsey and March RiverCare Groups on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire this morning. You can listen again at https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0bqnjvx (fast forward 1hr 16mins into the programme).
Rachael explained how the litter picks that the volunteers on these groups undertake along the riverbanks and rivers in March and Ramsey make a massive difference to the health of the rivers and their surrounding environment.
A litter pick took place earlier today alongside the High Lode in Ramsey involving 16 volunteers, including one in a kayak to help with retrieval of items from the Lode itself. Volunteers collected 30 bags of litter, including masses of polystyrene and tyres.
