About us
Cambridgeshire ACRE is an independent, rural development charity that works across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We offer support, resources and specialist advice to communities and partners across a wide range of topic areas connected to rural community life.
About this role
We have a short-term vacancy to join our team to manage the remaining delivery of our New Life on the Old West (NLOW) project. This is a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund until the end of September 2025. As we enter the final months of the project’s delivery, we will be looking to consolidate and share our learning with a range of audiences so we leave a lasting legacy.
Alongside our Natural Heritage and Communities Officer, you will work with partners, communities and landowners to ensure the successful delivery of the remaining NLOW project activities, disseminating information and creating opportunities for local people to learn about and connect with the diverse Fenland natural landscape.
We are therefore seeking an experienced project manager, capable of working with multiple partners to deliver this complex project. The ability to maintain excellent relationships with landowners, parish councils, natural heritage groups, volunteers and local community groups will be key to flourishing in this role, so you will need to be an excellent communicator, both in person and through written means.
So, if you are ready for a new challenge, enjoy teamworking and have plenty of ideas, we welcome your application.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Alison Brown, Head of Business Services (alison.brown@cambsacare.org.uk) to arrange a time to speak.
What we offer
You will be working for a reputable charity which cares for its employees’ wellbeing and offers benefits including:
- A working from home allowance to support you to undertake your role effectively
- A flexible working policy designed to promote a good work-life balance
- A workplace pension with a 5% employer contribution, providing a similar employee contribution is made plus an option for salary sacrifice
- An above-statutory allowance for annual leave with a large degree of flexibility as to when leave can be taken to suit your requirements
- A performance and pay strategy that rewards outstanding achievement with pay scales reviewed each year
- Support and encouragement with personal development so you can keep your skills up-to-date
